Deslorelin is a synthetic decapeptide that belongs to the class of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonists. Its main function is to stimulate the secretion of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) by activating GnRH receptors. In the initial stage, it will transiently increase the secretion of LH and FSH, followed by a decrease in LH and FSH levels due to receptor downregulation, thereby inhibiting ovarian or testicular function.
