Glatiramer is a synthetic peptide mixture composed mainly of four amino acids (glutamic acid, lysine, alanine and tyrosine). Its main function is to regulate the immune system and reduce autoimmune reactions by mimicking myelin basic protein (MBP). Glatiramer also has anti-inflammatory effects.
