Lepirudin is a recombinant direct thromboxane inhibitor, which belongs to the group of platelet aggregation inhibitors. It is a 65-amino acid polypeptide that can specifically bind to and inhibit the activity of thrombin. By inhibiting thrombin, lepirudin can prevent blood coagulation and thus prevent thrombosis.
