Lyspressin is a synthetic vasopressin analogue consisting of 9 amino acids. Its main function is to increase the reabsorption of water by the kidneys by activating the V2 receptor, thereby reducing urine production. Lyspressin can also constrict blood vessels and increase blood pressure by activating the V1 receptor.
