Lypressin

Basic Description

Structure and function:
Lyspressin is a synthetic vasopressin analogue consisting of 9 amino acids.
Its main effect is to increase water reabsorption by the kidneys by activating V2 receptors, thereby reducing urine production.
Lysinopressin can also constrict blood vessels and increase blood pressure by activating V1 receptors.
In vitro and in vivo studies:
In vitro, lysine vasopressin significantly increased renal tubular water reabsorption.
In vivo, lysine pressor was effective in reducing urine output and increasing blood volume.
In clinical applications, lysine is used to treat central diabetes insipidus and control bleeding.
