Protirelin

Basic Description

Structure and function:
Prorelin is a synthetic decapeptide that is a thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) analog.
Its main function is to stimulate the anterior pituitary to secrete thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) and prolactin (PRL) by activating TRH receptors.
Prorelin also has the effect of promoting the release of neurotransmitters.
In vitro and in vivo studies:
In in vitro experiments, prorelin can significantly activate TRH receptors.
In vivo experiments, prorelin can effectively stimulate the secretion of TSH and PRL.
In clinical applications, prorelin is used to diagnose and treat certain endocrine diseases.
