Triptorelin is a synthetic decapeptide that belongs to the gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist. Its main function is to stimulate the secretion of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) by activating GnRH receptors. In the initial stage, it will temporarily increase the secretion of LH and FSH, and then the levels of LH and FSH will decrease due to receptor downregulation, thereby inhibiting ovarian or testicular function.
